Starting from the curiosity of one of Nurul Hayat's santrikhidmat who always sees a traveling bread seller passing by in front of the Nurul Hayat Banyuwangi Foundation office. The curiosity comes along with the empathy instincts that the santrikhidmat has. Because according to his observations, the father of this bakery did not pedal the bread cart using both his feet, but with one of his hands. Yes, it was because one of the father's legs was found to have broken bones caused by a hit-and-run accident. Mr. Catur's right leg -as soon as we called him after ventured to get acquainted with him-- had to be amputated because it would have a bad impact if it wasn't done. And right now he has to wear prosthetic legs that we also think are not worth wearing because they have been damaged on all sides.

"Yes actually it's not good this mas when used to walk. This wrote my feet began to blisters at the bottom of the knee and at the very bottom end itself. It hurts when you walk." That's how Mr. Catur told us.

 

Mr. Catur is a humble figure and not minder with his personal condition. He always answers the questions we give him. And now what he needs most is a new prosthetic leg to keep him comfortable in every activity, especially with his profession as a traveling bread seller that requires him to not only pedal, but also sometimes lead his cart to difficult terrain such as climbs.

That's what made us finally decide to try to help Mr. Catur by giving him a new prosthetic leg. We started by taking pictures of Mr. Chess to show the real situation about Mr. Chess.

And Alhamdulillah, exactly today Friday, October 30, 2020, our Social Services team Laz Nurul Hayat Banyuwangi handed over a New Prosthetic Leg to Pak Catur directly at his home in the Karangrejo Subdistrict of Banyuwangi. He received it with happiness and hope, hopefully with this new prosthetic leg is really useful and helps him in his activities later.
